The program investigates the knowledge, attitudes and perceptions amongst immigrants, foreign students and foreign workers living in Cyprus on HIV / AIDS

  • Duration: The project lasted 4 months from December 2009 to April 2010

  • Partners: Cyprus Family Planning Organization and Cyprus University of Technology
  • The program investigated the knowledge, attitudes and perceptionsamongst immigrants, foreign students and foreign workers living inCyprus on  HIV / AIDS
  • Data was collected through theadministration of 500 closed questionnaires (method of non-statisticalsampling). People were asked about a) how they perceive the HIV& AIDS and their consequences and b) their knowledge on the modesof HIV transmission.
  • The findings of the survey will beused to design a training public health program for people from thirdcountries on sexual health issues.

Some of the findings were presented at the press conference given by the Ministry of Health on the occasion of World AIDS Day on the 1st of December 2010.
